Raspbeeeerry Beret.... she walked in through the out door!

You know when you have a song stuck in your head for like AGES? Well I had Prince stuck in my head.... Raspberry Beret to be exact... and you know the bit that goes 'she wore a raspberrrrry beret! The kind you find at the second hand store..... raspberrrry beret and if it was warm she wouldn't wear much more...'? Well I wear more than just a hat generally as a rule, but I had the urge last night to crochet something... so I made myself a Raspberry Beret ^.^ With my new hair I've been wanting to wear berets more...I don't know why exactly but hey, that's me and my oddball thinking for you!

It's not as slouchy as I would have liked..... but who cares! I'll just make more MUWAHAHAHA

Oh! And just because it's an awesome sauce song.... here you go! I am the kind of person to walk in through the out door... I just love this song!!

So here's the pattern for your own Raspberry Beret! It's pretty simple...

I am a size 16, I am curvy, and I am fabulous!!

My husband took these earlier today, I got them home and had a look at them and instantly hated them! I was going to delete them until I thought, well wait a second, I'm not a tiny size 10, and obviously the idea of what I look like in my head and how I actually look are completely different! So instead of deleting these photos, I'm sharing them with you. This is what I look like! Ok so my hair isn't very spiffy today, but yup... this is me! *waves* in all my unedited, non-deleted glory!

Watercolours on a rainy day...

I haven't painted in so long! I neglected my cleaning and my prep for tomorrow's photo shoot; I popped on the lovely CD that my darling friend Bec bought me, pulled out my paints and brushes and just relaxed a little! The thunder was rumbling away (and my stomach too come to think of it), my music playing softly in the background and nothing but an array of colours, brushes and blank paper before me. These past few days have been both fabulous and stressful, I'll explain more about that later; I really desperately needed to sit down and balance my equilibrium for a while...it's amazing how much painting grounds me! I feel so refreshed!

How divine!

Locked out...

I locked myself out of the house today, like the smart cookie that I am. So logically I went down to Salvos and picked up a crochet hook and some wool, walked back home and sat in the yard making granny squares for a while until Hubby came home with a key and let me back in.

Completely unimpressed (yet not suprised) by my own stupidity...
p.s new hair! You like?

But it's ok!

I mean it's a nice day so I guess it isn't sooo bad
At least it's not hailing like the past two afternoons...

Ta da!
In the event of no scissors to cut yarn, the edge of a brick works almost as well!

Yarn saves the day!

That will teach me for not packing my crochet...OOPS I mean my key into my handbag won't it! ;)

Derp.

I am making this Cactus Garden. I'm telling you because it may never be finished; I HATE single crochet...probably why I prefer admiring Amigurumi from a distance.
It's windy today, my dogs are growling and romping around the loungeroom, I have a feeling it may storm, I am currently surrounded by yarn (which you would THINK would cheer me up but it's just making me frustrated), I am still in my pj's and dressing gown at 3.22pm, I am definately sure most of the world is out to get to me and my husband is bringing me a packet of double coat Tim Tams and a mixed Kebab with BBQ sauce and sour cream when he finishes work. I am feeling extremely tired, weak, crap and would have no problem killing anything that annoys me today with fire. I have no idea why... the joys of being me!

However thumbs up for the awesome husband who senses my extreme bleck-ness today and opts to bring me tasty foods.

Well hey it wouldn't be much of a blog if I didn't crap on about how shit things are sometimes. I feel like a total derp-nozzle....Sorry I can't be one of those super dooper craft/life bloggers who are always happy and have awesome projects and kids and houses and life styles and interesting things to write about yada yada yada etc I'm really quite average!

Why can't I just be happy in my pajamas surrounded by wool and junkfood?

I've got no freakin' clue.

Oh and in case you're wondering, yes that is my brain slug buried in that wool there.

Derp indeed.

A little local yarn bombing

I decided to yarn bomb my first tree this Spring...and with the help and beautiful contribution from Vicki, a fellow yarn addict who made half the flowers you see we have created a little  something special in the local park! I don't mind how long they last, they may not be there tomorrow....I just hope at least one person sees it and smiles :o) So in the early hours of morning, with my little basket of crochet delights and camera in hand I set out to select my tree...
